Documents are no longer required to be legalized by the Consulate.

Documents with an APOSTILLE are sent directly to Chile.

District of Columbia Documents:

  1. The document must first be witnessed before a local notary public in the District of Columbia
  2. The document must be certified under the Seal of the District of Columbia. Obtained from the District of Columbia Government, Notary Section 441 4th Street NW # 810 S, Washington, D.C. 20001 (One Judiciary Square)

Virginia Documents:

  1. The document must first be witnessed before a local notary public in the State of Virginia
  2. The document must be certified under the Seal of the Commonwealth of Virginia (APOSTILLE)

Maryland Documents:

  1. The document must first be witnessed before a local notary public in the State of Maryland
  2. Notarized document must be taken to theClerk of the Circuit Court for certification, in the county where the notary was commissioned
  3. The document must be certified under the Seal of the Secretary of State of Maryland (APOSTILLE) 16 Francis Street, Annapolis, MD 21061

North Carolina Documents:

  1. The document must first be witnessed before a local notary public in the State of North Carolina
  2. The document must be certified under the Seal of the Secretary of State of North Carolina (APOSTILLE) South Salisbury Street, Raleigh, NC 27601

IMPORTANT: In order to validate this document in Chile, it must be legalized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Legalization Department, located at Agustinas 1320, Santiago, Chile. This process is free of charge.
