Lecture on Literature Nobel Laureate Pablo Neruda at Doon University, Dehradun, India


Dehradun, 9 September 2016: The Cultural Attaché of the Embassy of Chile in India, Mr. Manuel José Saldías, and Professor in Hispanic Literature of New Delhi, Mr. Aparajit Chattopadhyay, were invited by Doon University in the city of Dehradun, State of Uttarkhand, India, where they were welcomed by Professors and Students of the Spanish Department of the said academic centre.

The Embassy offered as a present to the University copies of the book "Odes to Things" published by the Chilean Mission in India, which contains a selection of poems of the Literature Nobel Laureate Pablo Neruda translated into Hindi language.

A lecture was afterwards delivered on the poet´s works, his residences in Chile through the photographs provided by The Neruda Foundation and on the bard´s relationship with India. The students then recited some of his verses in Spanish, Hindi and French and played a free interpretation of some of his works.
