Gloria Cid 

Ambassador of Chile to the Republic of Korea

Gloria Cid is a career diplomat, graduated from the Diplomatic Academy of Chile "Andrés Bello". She has a degree in History from the University of Chile and has specialized in international relations, multilateral diplomacy, economic-commercial issues and China. 

In Santiago, she has held various positions related to Consular Affairs; the Directorate of Asia Pacific; the Directorate of Planning; and the Directorate of Human and International Security. She has been Deputy Director of the Asia Pacific Directorate and Deputy Director of the International and Human Security Directorate. Prior to her appointment to the mission in Korea, she was Director of North America, Central America and the Caribbean. 

In the international arena, she has served as Head of Delegation for the SDG's negotiations (2013-14); Head of Delegation for the Sustainable Development Agenda 2030 negotiations (2015); Coordinator of the Chilean delegation to the Summit of Heads of State and Government for the adoption of the "Agenda 2030 for Sustainable Development" (2015); Head of the delegation to the High Level Political Forum (2016-2017); and Head of the negotiations of the XIV Regional Conference on Women in Latin America and the Caribbean, organized by ECLAC (January 2020).

She also acted as Coordinator of the Chilean delegation to the 6th interactive dialogue "Building inclusive, effective and accountable institutions to achieve sustainable development", co-chaired by President Michelle Bachelet, together with the President of the Republic of Korea, Park Geun-hye (2015). 

She has served in the Chilean Embassies in Costa Rica, Venezuela, Russian Federation, People's Republic of China and the Chilean Mission to the United Nations in New York. She was appointed Ambassador of Chile to the Republic of Korea in May of 2020.
