The group is formed by the outstanding Chilean musicians Jorge Campos, Cristian Cuturrufo and Pedro Greene.
Campos - Cuturrufo - Greene at Tahrir Cultural Center of the American University in Cairo
During November 13 and 14 the Chilean Jazz Trio "Campos - Cuturrufo - Greene" performed at the Cairo Jazz Festival, with two successful concerts that took place at the Tahrir Cultural Center of the American University in Cairo and at the Jazz Club of the same city.
The cultural project was executed by the Chilean Embassy in Egypt, in collaboration with the Directorate of Cultural Affairs (DIRAC) of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Chile.
The group is formed by Jorge Campos (bass and double bass), Cristian Cuturrufo (trumpet) and Pedro Greene (drums and percussion). "The music is completely transparent, it does not admit veils or treatments. The arrangement of trumpet, bass and drums is a great challenge in terms of sound," said Greene.
The Trio presented a repertoire that included arrangements by Miles Davis, Charlie Parker and Brad Mehldau, Chilean composers Victor Jara and Violeta Parra, as well as their own creations.
The group's program in Egypt also included a presentation at the Cairo Opera House on November 17, offering a show with a unique mix of folk, jazz, bebop, rock and funk influences. The activity was organized by our embassy in collaboration with the Egyptian Ministry of Culture.
In addition, the activities of the Trio contemplate the participation in a trumpet master class conducted by Cristian Cuturrufo to prominent musicians members of the Cairo Symphony Orchestra at Cairo Opera House.
