He is a career member of the Foreign Service, graduated in 1988 from the Diplomatic Academy "Andrés Bello" in Santiago, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Chile. He assumed his post as Consul General of Chile in Miami on March 18th. 2019.
Prior his enrollment to pursue his professional career in the Foreign Service, he won a Master of Arts in Teaching History and Geography at "Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile" and likewise holds a Diploma in Senior Management from the Faculty of Management and Economics from the same University. He previously served as Human Resources Director at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2017- 2019), Cabinet Secretary in the Office of the Minister for Foreign Affairs (2004); Chief of Cabinet of the Administrative/Financial Director of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. (2002-2004).
Mr. Nuñez's overseas assignments include the Embassy of Chile in Spain (1992-1997), the Consulate General of Chile in Stockholm, Sweden (1998-2003) and in the Embassies of Chile in Uruguay (2005-2010) and in Venezuela (2012-2017).
He and his wife, Rocío López have a grown daughter, Rocío.
