Tourist and Business Visa Requirements and Application

IMPORTANT CONSIDERATIONS:

  • In order to initiate an online visa application, please register at the Consular Service System (SAC), and attach all the required documents listed below.
  • The tourist and business visa cannot be changed to another type of visa in Chile.
  • Fees for procedures at the Consulate General of Chile in San Francisco must be paid at the Consulate with debit or credit card VISA, MASTERCARD or DISCOVER. The Consulate General in San Francisco also accepts payments by Money Order issued by the U.S. Postal Service payable to "CONSULATE GENERAL OF CHILE". The Consulate General does not accept wire transfers, personal checks or any form of cash.
  • The visa process could take approximately two to six weeks. The process may be longer during peak seasons.
  • The Consulate will provide you with an appointment time to pick up your visa. Passport holders must appear in person at the Consulate, and bring all the original documents.

BUSSINESS TRIP

  1. Completed Application Form
  2. One photograph taken within the past six months, full face, front view, white background, size two inches by two inches.
  3. Non-US citizens must bring proof of legal residence in the U.S.A. or a visa for a third country.
  4. Copy of your valid passport (6 months minimum validity).
  5. Copy of your driver ́s license.
  6. List of countries that you have visited in the last 5 years indicating: Year + Countries. If you have not been in any country, please state so in the application form.
  7. An original notarized letter from the U.S. Company stating name, passport number of each businessman, and their activities. Letter must say name and position of the applicant.
  8. Letter from the hosting company in Chile, original and duly notarized (Notary, Ministry of Justice, and Ministry of Foreign Affairs), specifying applicant's name, passport number, position, length of stay, and activities to carry out in Chile.
  9. Copy of the hotel reservation.
  10. Copy of the round trip ticket.

TOURISM TRIP

  1. Completed Application Form

  3. Non-US citizens must bring proof their legal residency in the U.S.A. or visa for a third country.
  4. Copy of your valid passport (6 months minimum).
  5. Copy of your driver ́s license.
  6. List of countries that you have visited in the last 5 years indicating: Year + Countries. If you have not been in any country, please state so in the application form.
  7. If you will stay with a family or friends, you must bring a duly notarized (Notary, Ministry of Justice, and Ministry of Foreign Affairs) letter of invitation, which includes at least the name, address and phone number of the hostess in Chile.
  8. Hotel reservation (Hotel's name, person in charged, address and telephone number)
  9. Copy of the round trip ticket.
  10. Proof of income: bank statement, pay statement, and letter from your employer stating your position, years employed in the company, and annual income.
