Todas las inscripciones se hacen hasta las 12:00 P.M. de lunes a viernes. Los certificados originales proporcionados para realizar la inscripción quedan en Chile y no son devueltos al interesado/a.

Birth Registration To register a birth in the Consulate, one or both Chilean parents must appear at the Consulate. The following are requirements for registering a birth:

  • One or both of the parents must be a Chilean citizen, and the appropriate identification must be shown (ID, Passport, etc).

The minor must have been born in the corresponding consular jurisdiction (Please see map of jurisdictions).

  • An original birth certificate, issued by the local authorities must be provided. The original is sent to Chile together with the request form.
  • If Parents are married in Chile they must present an original marriage certificate. If you do not have a copy, you can apply for one at the Consulate.
  • For person over 6 years of age, finger prints will be taken, therefore, person must be present at the time of registration.
  • $5 dollars for each registration.

Marriage Registration To register a marriage at the Consulate, to be valid also in Chile, the following requirements must be observed:

  • One of the spouses must be a Chilean citizen.
  • An original marriage certificate, issued by the appropriate local authorities must be provided.
  • The certificate must be signed and sealed by the local official authorities inside the Consular jurisdiction (Please see map of jurisdictions).
  • At the time of registration, the marriage must be classified by the spouses as common share or total separation of assets.
  • Both spouses must appear at the Consulate with their identifications.
  • $5 dollars for each registration.

Death Registration To register a death, it is necessary to observe the following requirements:

  • The deceased must have been Chilean, naturalized Chilean or a foreigner married to a Chilean citizen, whose marriage had been previously registered in a Chilean Consulate.
  • A death certificate issued by local authorities must be provided (Please see map of jurisdictions).
  • An identification document of the deceased must be presented.
  • If the deceased was married, the marriage certificate must be presented.
  • The person registering the death must have a valid identification document.
  • If the deceased is a minor, both names of the parents are required.
  • $5 dollars for each registration.
