Investing in Chile
Over the past several years, Chilean investment abroad has registered very significant growth, revealing that the globalization of Chilean economy transcends the field of trade in goods and services. The growing presence of Chilean capitals abroad has become a noteworthy element of the economic relations of our country with the rest of the world, in particular with other Latin American countries.
National investors have materialized almost 1,800 projects overseas, with capitals reaching USD $ 38,000 million. Most of these resources are invested in the regional environment. In fact, Latin American markets concentrate 88 per cent of the materialized global investment, while MERCOSUR countries have received 56 per cent of the total investment and the Andean Community of Nations expounds 28 per cent. Nevertheless, the presence of Chilean investors has gone beyond the close environment extending to more than 60 countries, among those noteworthy are the Dominican Republic, Spain, Australia, Croatia, Malta, China, and the United Arab Emirates.
