Objectives and functions of the Embassy
Our goal is to represent the interests of Chile and its nationals both in the countries where this Embassy is concurrent, fostering a closer relationship and cooperation with its authorities and institutions. Our most important functions are:
• To represent Chile before the Russian Federation, Belarus, Armenia, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan.
• To foster friendly ties with these countries, for which we try to cultivate and maintain a continuous dialogue with its main actors in the public, private, academic and cultural sectors.
• To observe and inform the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the internal situation of the Russian Federation, Belarus, Armenia, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan.
• To evaluate the main political, economic, commercial, scientific and cultural events.
• To facilitate and promote the negotiation of bilateral agreements with the Russian Federation, Belarus, Armenia, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan.
• To follow up on the most important events of the countries of the former Soviet Union.
• To protect the interests of Chile and its nationals in this region of the world.
• To disseminate and publicize our country in the societies of the Russian Federation as in Belarus, Armenia, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan, promoting their knowledge and values and making known their attractions, presenting and carrying out various initiatives.
• Perform all the specific tasks required by the Chilean Ministry of Foreign Affairs in this region of the world.
