What does it consist of?

It is the request for Orphanage Pension which children of Chilean beneficiaries or serving citizens, and who paid deduction (to the ex Equalization Aid Funds of the former Chilean Contingency system) are entitled to. This pension is a lifetime monthly monetary benefit.

Where is it granted?

At the Consulates of Chile abroad.

Who is it addressed to?

It is addressed to the children of deceased Chilean citizens who paid deduction in some of the ex Equalization Aid Funds of the former Chilean Contingency System, currently grouped in the Contingency Normalization Institute (INP, for its acronym in Spanish).

Documentation

  • "Single Contingency Benefit Request Form", pointing out clearly what benefit is requested. Must be signed by the petitioner and stamped by the Consul as a Certifying Officer.
  • Chilean Death Certificate.
  • Original Marriage Certificate (issued by the Civil Registry Service and dated after the decease).
  • Consular registration of Marriage (if applicable).
  • Original Birth Certificate of the deceased.
  • Authenticated photocopy of both Identity Cards.
  • Settlement of Payments, in the case of not been retired, otherwise, detailed information of registered names, period of time and contingency funds where the deceased paid deductions.
  • Original Birth Certificate or Consular Registration of the children.
  • School–leaving Certificate, in the case of a minor, aged between 15 and 18 years of age and not older than 23 if accrediting higher education. Disabled persons at any age.
  • Records for Consignment of Benefit.

Service

Concession or denial of an Orphanage Pension Benefit.

Fees

Depending on the kind of documents requested to be issued and legalized, such as Marriage and Death Certificates; legalization of School-leaving Certificate, etc.

Observations

Additional records may be requested during claiming proceedings.
